GTV cameras will at Baldonnel
to film a Spitfire, flying again 45 years after it was retired from
the Irish Air Corps.
The two-seat trainer version,
which served until 1960 has been completely rebuilt by a British
group of experts. The plane is painted in Air Corps colours of the
1950s. The Spitfire, is expected to carry out a flypast (subject to
weather etc.) of the Baldonnel Air Corps base, Co Dublin, and then
spent the day in the museum area.
The Spitfire, Irish Air Corps
number 161, was one of nine delivered to Ireland in the early 1950s.
The plane first flew with the RAF in the closing years of the Second
World War, then began a new career with the Irish Air Corps and went
into private hands in the UK in 1968. In 2000, it crashed killing
both pilots in West Sussex.

Bristow Group Inc. Announces Plan to Purchase Helicopter Adventures,
Inc.

Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE:BRS), a leading
provider of helicopter services and production management services to
the offshore energy industry, announced today that it has entered into
an agreement to purchase 100% of the stock of Helicopter Adventures,
Inc., a leading flight training provider, for approximately $15 million
plus debt of approximately $5 million. The purchase is expected to be
completed on April 1, 2007 and at that time the flight school will be
renamed as Bristow Academy Inc.
William E. Chiles, Bristow's President and
Chief Executive Officer, characterized the acquisition as,
“both a strategic move and a sound investment.”
Chiles said that, “Bristow Academy will be the
centerpiece of a Global Training Division that will set a new standard
for helicopter training at all levels of qualification while also
providing a steady supply of highly trained new pilots to meet the needs
of the company.”
Helicopter Adventures, Inc. located in
Titusville, Florida and Concord, California is the only helicopter
flight school approved to provide helicopter flight training to
Commercial Pilot level both by the US Federal Aviation Administration
and the European Joint Aviation Authority. It operates 51 helicopters
and employs 115, including 45 flight instructors. The school has
approximately 225 students in training, consisting of a mixture of
self-funded private individuals, sponsored trainees from the helicopter
industry or related companies, as well as trainee pilots from a wide
variety of foreign and domestic government agencies.

The Helicopter Nose Mount has the ability to pan left and right, it is fitted with a Panasonic AW-E800E digital signal processing camera (Resolution 850 lines) with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and 4:3 selectable. SDI and composite video output with full camera and lens remote control.
Operated by GTV the nose mount is fitted to Irish Helicopters Bell 206 - Jet Ranger. Video pictures / camera power / mount tilt are controlled via cables which run to inside the aircraft. For aerial survey work GTV can also provide a GPS titler which adds real-time GPS data to a composite video recording.

Feasibility Study On A
