Staged at the Cedars Hotel in Rosslare, the 2000 Irish Masters was the largest international darts event to be staged in Ireland. The top ranked 20 darts players in the world were amongst the 384 competitors (256 men, 128 women) competing for the top prize £ 3,500 in prize money and a car for a 9 dart 501.
The documentary focuses on the social, cultural and sporting aspects of the International Darts event. Beginning in Wales the programme follows the competitors as they depart from Fishguard to cross the Irish Sea on theferry for Rosslare. On the day before the event commences the camera follows some of the players as they visit local tourist attractions and take part in a Golf Classic. Some local radio programme interviews were arranged for competitors to participate in. Once again the TV documentary
covers theses activities and the social events arranged for the competitors in the build up to the tournament.
The second half of the programme concentrates on the final stages of the darts tournament, capturing the tension, excitement and disappointment of the competitors as they attempt to win the 2000 Irish Masters title.
