The Irish Sports Council (ISC):
The Irish Sports Council was established as a statutory body in 1999. Since
then Council has invested over 320million euro in the development of Irish
Sport. CEO John Treacy explains the role of the ISC and outlines the
significant contribution Council is making to Irish Sport.
Volleyball:
We are in UCD for the Volleyball Senior Cup Finals. We explain the rules of
Volleyball and explain how the game is played. In the Men’s Final Trinity take
on Aer Lingus while in the Women’s Final Santry play UCD.
Rugby:
Far away from exploits of Munster and Leinster, we visit Ashbourne RFC, a community based club
which has grown from strength to strength and which has its
sights
firmly set on continuing to do so! With plans to host
international games in the near future, this County Meath rugby club is an inspiration to all.
And in Dancing we visit County
Louth to speak with some of
Ireland’s finest talents on the hip
hop circuit. From a relatively new club in Dundalk, Stacey Moynahan has managed
to successfully coach many children and gain them a spot on the national team
for the World Championships in the United States.

GTV cameras were in Cape Town, South Africa
following the Irish team competing in the Red Bull Cape Town Man event.
Red Bull Cape Town Man, was a extreme
sea, land and air relay race. 70 teams facing off against each other and the
elements on a rugged peninsula known to early explorers as 'The Cape of Storms'.
Competitors pushed their minds and bodies to the limit in a gruelling mental and
physical challenge involving three extreme sporting disciplines:
adventure biking, mountain running and speed paragliding.
